Cast
Angelina
Jolie is Lara Croft, one of the most popular
interactive video game characters in history. Earlier this
year, Angelina won her first Academy Award ® and third Golden
Globe Award for "Girl Interrupted". She also won
Golden Globe Awards for TNT's "George Wallace" and
HBO's "Gia," Last summer she starred in the hit film
"Gone In Sixty Seconds" and was seen last fall in
"Original Sin" with Antonio Banderas.
Jon Voight
portrays Lara's father, Lord Croft. He received his first
Academy Award® nomination in 1970 for "Midnight
Cowboy." After memorable performances in
"Catch-22", "Deliverance" and "The
Odessa File," he was honored with an Oscar® for Best
Actor in "Coming Home." He then went on to star in
such films as "The Champ," "Lookin' to Get
Out," "Table for Five," "Desert
Bloom," and "Runaway Train," which brought him
his third Academy Award® nomination. More recently, he's
appeared in such films as "Mission: Impossible,"
"Anaconda," Michael Mann's "Heat,"
"The Rainmaker," "Enemy of the State,"
"Varsity Blues," and "The General."
Iain Glen
plays the arch villain of the film, Powell, adversary of Lara
Croft's father, Lord Croft, and now Lara's sworn enemy. A
gifted stage and screen actor, Iain was Nicole Kidman's
leading man in the acclaimed London production of "The
Blue Room." The award winning Scottish actor's previous
films include "Gorillas In The Mist,"
"Mountains of the Moon," "Silent Scream,"
and "Fools of Fortune."
Julian
Rhind-Tutt is Pimms, an assistant to Powell. Julian
has starred in a number of British television shows. He has
also and had featured rolls in such films as "Notting
Hill", "The Madness Of King George" and
"The Trench."
Daniel Craig
portrays Alex, a fellow tomb raider and Lara's occasional
accomplice. Daniel has recently appeared in
"Elizabeth," "I Dreamed of Africa,"
"Some Voices" and "Hotel Splendide."
Noah Taylor
stars as Bryce, a brilliant technical geek who specializes in
robotics. Besides being Lara's technical wizard, he sometimes
acts as her 'eyes and ears' when she is in the field.
Filmgoers will recognize Taylor from his work as the
adolescent David Helfgott in "Shine". He can
currently be seen playing Dick Roswell in Cameron Crowe's
"Almost Famous."
Lesile
Philips portrays Wilson, a former admirer of Lord
Croft who has now turned against him and joined forces with
Powell. With a career spanning more than six decades, some of
his more notable films include "The Jackal,"
"Empire of the Sun," "Out of Africa," and
"The Longest Day." Lesile can currently be seen in
"Saving Grace".
Chris Barrie serves
Lara as her butler, Hillary. He is well known in the UK for
his role as Arnold J. Rimmer in the cult Television show
"Red Dwarf." "Tomb Raider" is Barrie's
first motion picture.
